Description: The goal of this series is to allow the Spirit of God to use the Word of God to produce his fruit in his people. The studies can be used by individuals in their quiet times or for group discussion in Sunday school or at neighborhood Bible studies. The eight guides in this series can be used in any order. Because each of the guides contains only six studies, it is easy to explore more than one fruit of the Spirit in a quarter, or the entire series can be covered in a year.

Each study deliberately focuses on only one or two passages, enabling students to see each passage in its context and avoiding the temptation of proof-texting and the frustration of jumping from verse to verse. Questions are asked after each passage -- inductive questions about the Scripture studied and personal questions of application -- and space is provided in the booklet itself for each student to record his or her responses.

Leader's notes are provided in the back of each guide. They show how to lead a group discussion, provide additional information on questions, and suggest ways to deal with problems that may come up in the discussion. With such helps, someone with little or no experience can lead an effective study.
