The Big Bungalow Suite melds Zakanitch's earlier influences with a subject matter inspired by childhood memories of the domestic interiors of his childhood -- floral rugs, painted plates, and patterned linoleum floors. David Pagel in the Los Angeles Times said that The Big Bungalow Suite embodies "life affirming grandeur".
