In the late seventies a handful of Angelenos, started their own unique music scene. In Chinese restaurants and deserted strip clubs bands and individuals like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, X, Fear, Bad Religion, Los Lobos, Black Flag, the Germs and the Go-Gos constructed a musical community that would serve as a blueprint for the next twenty years of pop music. Collected here are the forefathers of this era, speaking out in voices that only the truly initiated possess. Don Snowden has assembled the writers who knew and lived this scene, who were this scene.
