When a new sect of demons arrives in town, looking for one desperate little human, Angel Investigations is surprised to discover that there's an Angel imposter trying to solve the same case. The gang is happy for the help, even if Angel himself is dubious. But these demons don't care who the real Angel is; all they want back is a deathstone, full of angry emotions and looking for new hosts.

Then a crime is committed on the supposedly secure grounds of Caritas, the demon karaoke bar. While Angel and company set off to find the missing Fred, the Host sits each patron down and questions him, her, or it about what they saw. Turns out each witness has its own version of events, but one thing is clear: Time is running out for Fred!
