Description: Every morning we wake up (for the most part) with twenty-four free God-given hours to live as we please. But what if one morning we didn't get this time for free? What if we had to earn it? In Buying Time, humorously slanted at the huge Fantasy/Science Fiction market, a kookie quintet of disparate LA Subway riders finds itself in that predicament. There is sex, mystery, action, suspense, space-chase, love, friendship, and, most of all, revelation. Pearl, Makeba, Nardo, Norma and Jake experience their earthquaked subway car falling through a crack in time and space. As they reach the huge pink glowing gas planet that supports its surroundings floating islands, they are outfitted with R.O.'s (ReadOuts) to calculate the time and credits they must now earn. Needing twelve credits each to return to their Plane of Origin, the great Odyssey begins. Each discovers his/her best talents to make the team fo ever forward. Finally earning full credits, they return to the L.A. Subway car only nano-seconds from whence they started, and remember nothing. Forever changed, now they are sitting next to each other, relating and planting the seeds for the best of friends.
