Description: The first known attacks were in March of 1995 in Puerto Rico. Eight sheep were discovered dead, each completely drained of blood. Investigators found three strange puncture wounds in the chest of the dead animals. Because of the odd circumstances, authorities could only attribute the killings to an unknown predator. Others recognized the similarities in these details to the enigmatic cattle mutilations only told in ancient legends. Five months later, the attacks intensified and became more bizarre than any cattle mutilation. Authorities found more than 2,000 animals devoid of blood with no explainable cause in and around the Puerto Rican town of Canovanas. About 30 citizens claimed to have seen a strange creature around the times of the killings. They describe it as having huge red glowing eyes, gray skin, a long snake-like tongue, fangs, and spinal quills. Those who saw it say it stands between four to five feet tall, hops, and leaves a demonic sulfur-like stench. The creature allegedly broke through a bedroom window and attacked a child. Leaving in haste, the creature left a puddle of slime on the windowsill with a rancid piece of flesh. Some believe the creature now thirsts for human blood! These accounts are based on actual stories from eyewitnesses and news clippings. Although recently well documented by Puerto Rican authorities, the history of the "Chupacabra" creature appears to be more than folklore and can be traced as far back as ancient Mexican civilizations.
