Our goal is to minimize your textbook costs and provide you with the best online shopping experience possible. That's why our return process is easy and straightforward.

Return Policy

Within 30 days of confirmation of your order, you may return any item* to Akademos, for any reason, and receive a refund in the amount of the merchandise price paid less a 10% restocking fee.

Specifics:

• Books or audiovisual media must be returned in their original condition; items ordered as "new" must be returned with no markings or other damage. Any software media that may be included in the book must also be intact. Movies and games may not be returned once the shrink-wrap or packaging seal is broken, unless the product is found to be defective.
  
  
• The shipping fee paid by the customer at the time of purchase will be refunded only if the return is due to our error (i.e., we sent you damaged items or the wrong items).
  
  
• The return-shipping fee (what you pay to send us the item) will be refunded only if the return is due to our error (i.e., we sent you damaged items or the wrong items). If you are eligible for a refund of your return shipping fee, please include a copy of your shipping receipt with the package.
  
  
• We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. Your refund will be in the same form of payment originally used for purchase. This process usually takes about 10-14 business days.
  
  
• Items that are returned more than 30 days after order confirmation will be subject to an additional restocking fee at the discretion of Akademos. We cannot accept items returned more than 45 days after order confirmation.
  
  *Certain items are sold as non-returnable items for a variety of reasons. We are unable to offer refunds on such items. You will be made aware of the non-returnable status of such an item at the time of purchase.

In some cases, items purchased through the marketplace program need to be returned. These cases are the following:

a) A book or other item is "materially different" from the way it was rated - An item is materially different if it is damaged, or varies significantly in quality from the way it is listed. Most items listed on the marketplace are previously owned, so some wear and tear is to be expected. However, there are several clear cases of material difference that should not occur. As a general rule, an item should never be more than 2 condition descriptions below its listed condition.

b) An item is shipped to you incorrectly - For example, you order one item and get another. The item you receive should match the description of the item listed on TextbookX.com.

In these cases you may need to return the item to the Seller. The Seller will either choose to send the correct item to you in exchange for the incorrect one, or will authorize a full refund upon the receipt of the returned item.

However, unless there is a material discrepancy between what the Seller offered and what the Buyer received (incorrect book, misrepresented condition, etc.), all returns to the Seller are at the sole discretion of the Seller and must be agreed to by the Seller in advance of the return. Procedure for Returning Items You Purchased from TextbookX.com (non-marketplace):

• To return an item, please fill out the section entitled "Return Information" on the Return Invoice. If you did not receive or have lost your Return Invoice, you can print one from this page (see below). Please send both the Return Invoice and the Packing Slip along with your returned books to the following address:

If you cannot find your packing slip or Return Invoice, and you are unable to print out the copy below, please enclose a note explaining the reason for your return, as well as any and all other available information about your order (order date, order #, etc.). Also, be sure to print your full name and address on the note you enclose.

• To ensure that your returned items reach us, we suggest you use the US Postal Service's media mail with delivery confirmation. Returns will not be accepted without confirmation of delivery.
  
  
• At this time, we are unable to process exchanges as part of our return policy. If you would like to purchase other items, simply place a new order online and return those items you no longer want.
