Octavo. Bright red buckram covered boards and spine with shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Light bumping at the head of the spine and a fair amount of bumping at the tail. Just a trace of rubbing at the tips of the corners. White endpapers. Binding is straight and tight; pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 252 pages. Dust Jacket-has just a trace of rubbing at the very tips of the corners. Either a previous owner or an American distrubutor has put a small white sticker over the price on the lower corner of the front inside flap. Front cover tells us that The Shadow Lines was the "Sahitya Akademi Award Winner 1989." Early Indian printing of an author who would later become widely appreciated in the United States.
