Description: A former undercover cop named Val Duran has fled Miami for southern California, running from a ruthless drug kingpin named Junior. Junior has murdered Val's partner, Val has killed two of Junior's men, but neither of them thinks this makes them even. Val is working in Hollywood and trying to lure Junior out of the safety of Miami when he meets and falls hard for Kyle, a Ph.D. with an attitude and a pedigree. Kyle has problems, too: a dissolute stepbrother with a deadly new girlfriend and a plan to forcibly wrest the purse strings to Daddy's fortune from the control of overbearing Stepmom. Val is in the heady first stages of love when he finds out that Junior is already in California.
