Description:
The year is 2035. Wakes you up, Washer! Wakes you up! A young boy, Feeder, tries to wake his sleeping friend. They must get to work or face death at the hand of their master. Washer and Feeder are eleven years old. Not old enough to be considered human by the standards of the Supreme Court, they are non-human (numan) and therefore merely masses of tissue able to be abused, worked, and subject to post-natal abortion. This is a story about inhumanity, prejudice, bigotry, hate. It is a story about what it means to be human in all of its goodness and cruelty. It is also a warm story about a subjected class of peoples struggle to be free and obtaining ultimate victory over their masters. This story is for all who are against hate, racism, inhumane treatment of people, and other living things.
