His work utilizes anxiety, humor, and intelligence to reveal the complex sets of structures and relationships in which daily life unfolds. Wallinger's practice has developed from painting to encompass photography, video, sculpture and installation work. Employing the tools of irony and satire, Wallinger explores issues surrounding the complex themes of identity, class, race, and religion.
