Description:
These 'observations on education, ' as he calls them, span Mr. Pusey's first ten years as President Of Harvard. Taken together they constitute an exploration of a whole range of approaches to the contemporary situation of the American university. Carefully chosen from among more than forty major addresses, each of these twenty-one thoughtful pieces considers some aspect of education, or of the scholar's role in the academic enterprise, that is now of serious general interest.
