Desperate to understand men, or at least the man who dumped her, Jane Goodall, like her namesake, turns to the study of animals -- particularly their sexual behavior. The New-Cow theory, which is short for Old-Cow-New-Cow theory, which sadly translates to men leave women and never come back because all they really want is New Cow. Supported by Freud, Darwin, and her own set of lovelorn friends including her womanizing roommate, Eddie, her best friend, Joan, and her gay friend, David, Jane attempts to unlock the secrets of the most perplexing and elusive animal in the kingdom: the human male.
