In the tradition of classic screwball comedies and with a sharp eye for modern-day irony, As Long as She Needs Me chronicles Oscar's marital-planning quest as he handles monster agents, soothes celebrity authors, and manages to survive his famously explosive boss. Relief comes in the form of a chance meeting with the popular wedding columnist Lauren LaRose, with whom Oscar strikes a deal: her expertise on ministers, appetizers, and centerpieces for his editing of her grueling monthly nuptial report. As the two work together to manufacture the romances of others, feelings between them ignite, which soon has Oscar devising a top-secret plan of his own.
