Description: Atlantis. Described magnificently by Plato in 380 BC, this ancient city and continent, beautiful beyond the imagination, was said to have disappeared in a single disasterous day. Since that time the legends and myths of Atlantis have never ceased to capture the imagination. Jim Allen became interested in Atlantis while making an exhaustive study of ancient measuring systems. It was then that he made the amazing discovery that Bolivia's Altiplano region, high in the Andes, corresponds with Plato's description of an island city on a plane encircled by mountains. An examination of the archeological evidence provided further support.
