The show was created by Mitchell Kriegman, former staff writer for Saturday Night Live and creator/executive producer of Clarissa Explains It All, the widely popular, Emmy Award-winning Nickelodeon hit starring Melissa Joan Hart. Kriegman was also an executive story editor for the Emmy Award-winning Nickelodeon show Rugrats and the Emmy Award-nominated Ren and Stimpy.
Bear in the Big Blue House currently airs twice a day, seven days a week on The Disney Channel. Its third season began July 18th, bringing the total number of episodes to 91.
