Blood Brothers Hiram and Hudson Maxim-Pioneers of Modern Warfare
- Binding: Hardcover
- Publisher: Intl Pub Marketing Inc
- Publish date: 07/01/1999
Although best-known for Hiram's invention of the modern machine-gun, the Maxim brothers were at the cutting edge of technological innovation, including explosives (which cost Hudson a hand), gas and electricity, fairground rides, and came closer than anyone before the Wright Brothers to building a heavier-than-air aircraft. The brothers continued to be productive and influential to the end of their days, which Hiram spent in England while Hudson operated out of his estate in rural New Jersey. Pioneers in both the history of science and warfare, no biography of the Maxim Brothers has been written since the 1920s.
