This pictorial history of Australian military aviation is one of a series of publications marking the 75th anniversary of the RAAF. Features paintings from the Harry Hawker collection, the RAAF Heritage Awards, RAAF commissions and a number of private collections. Paintings include those from Australia's earliest period in flying, such as Norman Cliffords' Boxkite, as well as those displaying Australia's present fighter planes such as Michael Howard's portrayal of an F/A-18 Hornet. Each picture is accompanied by an annotation providing information about the aircraft and participating personnel .
