Description: Coulson and Richardson is probably the most widely used standard text for undergraduate students and a new edition is a noteworthy event... this has to represent very good value for money for 899 pages of well written text. Comparison with the 1st edition (revised) with which my own education commenced indicates that virtually every section has increased in size with a major expansion in the case of Fluidisation and Sedimentation reflecting the advance in knowledge in these areas and new sections on Adsorption, Ion Exchange, Chromatography and Membranes which have been specially written for this edition by J. M. Bowen and J. R. Conder of Swansea. They are to be commended for their contribution, that on Adsorption being particularly well written... The chapter on Fluidisation has clearly been recently revised and provides an excellent student text...Overall the volume has sustained the standard expected and the student is well served for the most part.
