Description: The most exciting gardens reflect an individual's imagination and eccentricities. In Eden on Their Minds, Starr Ockenga visits some of the most creative gardeners in America. This is a group of visionaries and mavericks, including a horticultural missionary in Michigan dedicated to restoring native forests; an audacious Pennsylvania gardener who tends a lush tropical garden; and an Oregon arborsmith who creates sculpture with trees. Boldly, they turn their dreams into realities. Ockenga's beautifully nuanced photographs bring the details of their gardening adventures to life. Practical, helpful sidebars provide comprehensive plant lists and reveal how to create "living walls", propagate primulas from seed, cultivate dwarf conifers, or grow single plant families -- from sunflowers to orchids.

Eden on Their Minds will inspire gardeners to break new ground in planning and planting their own backyards, whether small city lots, suburban yards, or country properties.
