Children have a lot to say, whether through gestures, movements, pictures or words. American Sign Language incorporates all of these natural skills, and Cindy Wheeler's book, using helpful hints and picture clues, makes these signs accessible to even the youngest child. To make the sign for tiger, show the stripes on his face, or for please, rub your heart. More Simple Signs introduces 29 words from a young child's everyday life. And the hand sign alphabet is included on the endpapers for children ready for the extra challenge.

"The result is a broader understanding: children don't simply learn a few words in a new languages; they learn that there's a completely different world of communication". -- Booklist for Simple Signs
