Description: Volume 1 will contain the complete unabridged WAP standard. It is currently available only online, in a hard to format comprised of more than 1,000 pages. By publishing the protocol, we are providing an authoritative source for developers and all those interested in the details of the specification. The accompanying CD-ROM will also feature the complete, unabridged WAP standard, which will allow for easy cross-reference and look up of important features like HDML which are spread throughout the specification. The CD-ROM will be further enhanced by the addition of a search tool for the lengthy specification, unique to standards on CD-ROMs. Such reference ability, while crucial to developers is nearly impossible with the present online version because of its length. That's why publishing the spec both in print and CD-ROM will be so important to them.
