Description: In the tradition of Mary Higgins Clark comes a furiously paced, nail-biting psychological thriller about a serial killer whose fastidious pattern of abducting young boys is thrown off track when he mistakenly kidnaps a nine-year-old girl.

The Chocolate Man has held New York City in a grip of fear as he kidnaps and kills little boys; now he is again on the prowl. He scopes out his target, makes the snatch. But this time he has blundered. For the first time, his abductee is a girl.

The tension mounts from the very first page when little Emily Lookinland is nabbed from the park the second her mother turns her back, and the pressure doesn't let up until the last page is turned. One Two Buckle My Shoe follows the riveting psychological relationship that forms between Emily and her captor, masterfully taking us into the mind of a dangerously off-balance killer and a terrified yet resourceful and imaginative girl. As the kidnapping plays out, and her mom -- who must take matters into her own hands when the police investigation bogs down -- desperately searches for her, Emily's only chance for survival is to use her wits and intelligence to keep her captor at bay.
