Description:
French artist Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) was the first woman to join the Impressionist painters, regularly showing works in their exhibitions. Highly regarded by Degas, Renoir, and Monet, she shared their fascination with the treatment of light, but developed her own distinctive style, utilizing a delicate, feathery brushstroke. Like her contemporary Mary Cassatt, she became renowned for her portraits of women and children and scenes of domestic life. This beautifully printed card collection reproduces six of her best-known works: The Cradle, The Mother and Sister of the Artist, The Butterfly Hunt, Young Girl by the Window, Hide and Seek, and On the Balcony.
