Description:
After killing two white deputies during a raid on a rival family's smuggling operation, LeRoi Boudreaux Tremain is told by his family to leave his Louisiana home -- the only home he has ever known -- until things cool off. At seventeen years old, he is little more than a boy but has the hard heart of one who kills to survive. Feeling betrayed, he joins the army, where he becomes King Tremain, whose bloodcurdling credo is "I came to kill".

From the forests of France in WWI to the streets of New York City to a black township in Oklahoma, King is the angel of vengeance wherever he sees injustice inflicted on his people, friends, or family. He kills based on his code of honor, loyalty and love.
This is a promising start to what will be a long career by a new novelist who already has people buzzing. This novel has garnered author comparisons to Larry McMurtry, Walter Mosley, and Mario Puzo, and soon Guy Johnson's name will be on everyone's lips.
