Terry Winters, a native of Brooklyn, is one of the leading painters and printmakers of his generation. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he has devoted much of his time since 1982 to pushing the boundaries of printmaking, collaborating with printers to explore the possibilities of materials, technology, and traditional mediums including lithography, etching, woodcuts, linoleum cuts, and screenprints. His imagery has evolved from biological and botanical forms to abstract examinations of perception, inspired by a wide range of sources.
