Description: "The Beatles in Rishikesh" is Paul Saltzman's unique account of meeting The Beatles on the Maharishi's ashram, a special moment in music history when The Beatles were beginning to assimilate Indian mystical and musical influences and open a new direction for the sound and subject matter of pop music. As no professional photographers were allowed on the ashram, few good images of The Beatles at that time exist. Saltzman, however, has 75 original and previously unpublished photos of the band during this period, as well as numerous anecdotes of his encounters with Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Starr, and other well-known figures of the era, including Mia Farrow, Donovan, and Mike Love of the Beach Boys. The Beatles in Rishikesh offers an exclusive and intimate perspective on the world's most influential band at a critical stage in their musical -- and personal -- development.
