Broadway star Tommy Tune confesses that Ophie, his Yorkshire terrier, not only travels with him everywhere he goes but Tune now thinks of his life as B.O. and A.O. -- Before Ophie and After Ophie. Renowned naturalist Edward O. Wilson is portrayed here with one of the ants that have helped to build his fabled reputation as the world's greatest living myrmecologist. He admits that despite his "enormous regard" for these "magical" creatures, he's never wept over an ant, but he shares his memories of pets who have earned his tears. Whether you love a dog, a cat, an elephant, or a macaw, this beautiful volume celebrates that special bond between people and the animals close to their hearts.
