Description:
Ukiyo-e painting offers a fascinating glimpse of the culture of the floating world, a world of actors and courtesans and elegant pastimes which flourished in Edo, the vibrant capital of Japan. During the Edo period (1600-1868) numerous artists recorded every aspect of this colorful scene in scroll paintings.
