Size: 9x1x6; First ed.; first printing according to printer's key; fourth volume of five-volume set; 773 p., clean and unmarked within on strong unaged paper; no former owner's name; very faint staining along small portion of upper edges of both pastedowns and rear end page; binding firm; dark blue boards with still bright gilt lettering and OUP logo have one superficial ding on rear board, a splattering of tiny white blur on upper portion of front board, and small but distinct brown stain on lower edge block. Clean glossy photographic d.j. 1/4" closed tear on lower edge of front panelboards. Faint staining on inner verso of d.j. that is puzzling because boards do not give appearance of staining. Price label on rear panel reads $45.00 from Library of Congress gift shop.
