The Phish Book, produced with the band's full involvement and with no-holds-barred access, is an oversized, full color tribute, including over 200 hundred never-before-seen personal and concert photos, with recollections and tidbits from band members, friends and family. While it contains many of the trappings of other lavish rock monuments, The Phish Book raises the form to a higher level by means of an innovative roundtable-style discussion format. Richard Gehr and Phish use the events of a year on tour as a jumping-off point from which the band members free-associate about themselves, their music, and the dedicated and colorful community that springs up whenever they perform. Moreover, the book is beautiful -- in fact, it's design was called "striking" when reviewed by the Boston Globe.
Innovatively structured and as visually dazzling as one of their spectacular light shows, the book is just as divine an experience as a Phish show.
