Very warmly inscribed to Jewish literature and studies scholar, Sanford Pinsker (dated 1998. ) Pinsker was one of the three judges that bestowed upon the book the Edgar Lewis Wallant award for excellence by a hitherto unknown Jewish writer. The book was also awarded the Flannery O'Connor award for short fiction. The typed and corrected manuscript of Pinsker's review for the Georgia Quarterly is laid in at front. In addition the text of Grossinger's acceptance speech for the Wallant award is laid in on three loose sheets. Signed again by the author on the title page. This was Pinsker's review copy and has his creasing to 10 or so page tips near the end of the book. Several pages with a few lines underscored and or circled in red pen; a few marginal annotations. An unusual signed copy, notable for the inclusion of a review which helped pave the way for the book's receiving the Wallant award. Dj bright-just lightly handled edges. G+/VG+
