Description: Philip Fletcher, actor-murderer and star of Simon Shaw's award-winning theatrical crime series, is thrown into a jealous rage when he hears that his most hated rival is up for a knighthood in the New Year's Honours List. Naturally, Fletcher must have one too, but can't quite see how to go about it. The death of a gossipy fellow actor and the subsequent threat of scandal to his family and colleagues opens up a tantalizing possibility to Fletcher: he could always blackmail his way to the honour which he knows he so richly deserves. But such a course is perilous, requiring, among other things, undercover penetration of an S&M nightclub. Fletcher's burning ambition takes him to outrageous lengths, and it appears that murder may be on the agenda again.
