This book is a collection of unpublished prose and poetry honoring the rich literary history of New Rivers Press. The anthology celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of the small nonprofit organization. Selected from over one hundred submissions, all of the works are previously unpublished. They demonstrate the unique range and superb quality of writing was generated by the commitment to its at which is the foundation for the reputation of the press.
The book features an introduction and story by David Haynes, author of Heathens and Right by My Side. Haynes is a New Rivers author who has gone on to publish with Milkweed Editions, and enjoys the success of having his books reprinted by Harcourt Brace and Dell Publishing. Haynes has lasting memories of his small press roots, and in his introduction recalls working with C. W. Truesdale, the publisher of New Rivers Press, on his first book, Right By My Side.
The collection includes poetry and prose from sixty authors. The publication of this book serves as a testament to the dynamism of small literary presses, and the enduring legacy of New Rivers Press.
