Haynes is a New Rivers author who has gone on to publish with Milkweed Editions, and enjoys the success of having his books reprinted by Harcourt Brace and Dell Publishing. Haynes has lasting memories of his small press roots, and in his introduction recalls working with C. W. Truesdale, the publisher of New Rivers Press, on his first book, Right By My Side.
The collection includes poetry and prose from sixty authors. The publication of this book serves as a testament to the dynamism of small literary presses, and the enduring legacy of New Rivers Press.
