Description:
In Jim Aylesworth's touching new picture book, a lonely traveler -- a father who has been away on business -- returns home to his family. Along the way his thoughts are on his wife and children. He drives from the moonlit country through the jangling energy of a nighttime city and onto a quiet suburban street, where he finds that Mom has allowed the kids to stay up to greet him. Through the Night is full of the sights and sounds of nighttime. And it is a simple story of family love and reassurance. Pamela Patrick's illustrations capture perfectly both the vastness of a brilliant city skyline and the gentleness of a father's hug.
