Expand description
Search engines, metasearch engines, and directories are programs that allow users to look for information on the Web. Search engines use keywords to search the Web for information. Metasearch engines send out searches to smaller search engines and break down the results found in each engine. Directories are grouping of topics and subtopics that allow a user to zero in on the information they need. Just as search engine's value rests in their ability to search, a Web site also must ensure that it is easily searchable.
