Description:
The Windows Scripting Host (WSH) is Microsoft's evolutionary answer to a much-needed programming environment for the Windows Desktop. In the same way that Office 2000 provides VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) as a developer tool, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 contain the Windows Scripting Host. The WSH enables you to use scripting languages to directly access the Windows shell, automate operations within Windows and generally customize the Windows environment to your individual or corporate needs. These capabilities have been available to UNIX programmers through the 'shell' and Peri. DOS Batch files were the equivalent for DOS. Two programming languages, VBScript and JScript are supported by the WSH.
