From George Washington to George W. Bush, MyReportLinks.com Books, an imprint of Enslow Publishers, Inc., will offer a complete library of the presidents of the United States. Twenty-two books are planned for the start of the series in spring of 2002. Each book in the Presidents series explores the life and political career of an American president. The text begins with an important event in the president's life, and then recounts the story of one who has held our nation's highest office. These full-color books include portraits, Internet screen captures, and if applicable, images of important documents.
In six informative chapters, author James Deem uncovers the brief history of Zachary Taylor's presidency. Perhaps Taylor's greatest accomplishment in office was the Clayton-Bulwer Treaty, which prevented Great Britain from expanding its interests in Central America. This treaty enabled future president Theodore Roosevelt to construct the Panama Canal. Unfortunately, Taylor died after completing only sixteen months of his term.
