Description:
Eleven-year-old Tee resents her family, hates her school, and withdraws into her own world. When a great uncle leaves Tee an ancient Egyptian "shabti box" with a doll-like wooden figure, Tee's brother accidentally invokes the doll's magic. The shabti comes to life and Tee delights in using it as a double who can "stand-in" for her. Soon, the real Tee grows jealous of the all-too-human shabti, who is enjoying herself immensely.
