Oppressive heat, humidity and storm clouds brought dragons; dragons who completely annihilated Arlian's entire village including his own family. Orphaned, Arlian is captured into slavery and sold as a mining slave. Seven years later, he escapes armed with a seething hatred for dragons, bandits and slavemasters -- everyone who stole his youth. Arlian becomes obsessed with justice and his life becomes ruled by it. Even his best friend, Black, whom Arlian loves as a brother, has little influence over him. Arlian's sole purpose becomes a mission to mete out justice. But can one man change the world for the better? Or is he doomed by his own actions to become as unjust as those he seeks to destroy?
