This copy is SIGNED by Grant at the title page. With a nine page introduction; "Introduction--From Limehouse to River Street", by Robert E. Briney. Eleven interior illustrations by Duncan Eagleson. Howard wrote a sereis of detective tales centering around the character of Steve Harrison, and within this group were three stories in which Harrison encountered the diabolical Erlik Kahn. Erlik Khan is patterned after Sax Rohmer's famous Fu Manchu. The three stories in the book are: "The Lord of the Dead", "The Mystery of Tannernoe Lodge" (finished by Fred Blosser) and "Names in the Black Book".
