Description:
Windows Scripting Host is a language-independent scripting host for 32-bit Windows platforms that include both Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) and JScript scripting engines. Since most experienced System and Network Administrators have UNIX backgrounds, they are accustomed to and comfortable with using scripting tools to automate administration tasks. WSH is a native NT scripting language that is designed to automate applications -- reducing the time and effort necessary to maintain a network. There is currently very little documentation on WSH. In Windows 2000, WSH will be significantly enhanced to automate the NT GUI administration tools. These enhancements will make it an even more valuable tool for Network Administrators. Tim Hill, the author, has contacts with the MS development team and will keep in touch with them as he writes to ensure that he includes the most recent information possible.
